- 6/24/2310 minute haircut. I brought my son in for a haircut today. He's a teenager, and it looks like he got a bowl cut with his bangs cut straight across. I did try to describe what he was looking for when she started the cut, and she didn't say a word. Who cuts hair in 10 minutes? - 10/5/22I have been a customer of Thi's for almost 20 years. She does a wonderful style and color and is worth the extra money that she charges. However, I was in the salon last week to get my roots done and was told that I was now going to have to pay an extra $20 for blowdrying my hair. They said it was because of the texture of my hair. I am 80 years old and have always had a lot of hair but as I have gotten older, my hair has thinned out and is not nearly as thick as it was in my thirties, forties and fifties. I am afraid that this is the last time that I will be a customer of Thi's or this salon. This is what I call nickel and diming your customers to death. I just do not see having to pay an extra $20 to have my hair blown dry. My hair is shoulder length and as I said is NOT thick. This is not the way to treat a loyal customer. In the last 60 years, I have NEVER had to pay extra to get my hair blown dry and I don't see starting to pay this fee now in my old age.Response from HairCuttery • 10/7/22Virginia Ault, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. - 9/24/22My friends don’t believe me when I tell them I got my hair done at Hair Cuttery!! Saba is amazing at taming my 3C curls and making them look gorgeous, every time! She has a way of turning what I have in my mind into a gorgeous style! Her product recommendations have made my hair healthy and shiny! - 3/1/22I have been going to Alveda for over 20 years and this year her prices have seemed to escalate. I paid $100. for a single color on 2/11 (incl. tip). I have short hair. I went in with a 20% coupon on 2/23 for a cut (I called and mentioned the coupon because I had difficulty with another Hair Cuttery coupon another time (It was embarrassing.) Alveda stated that this one was
for only $50 and up, however, it
was for a single service. She quoted me that walkin-ins get charged $35 for a cut and reg. customers are charged $42. This does appear strange as it does not try to cater to reg. customers. On Tuesday I called and made a cut & blowdry appointment for October 9th at 1:30pm for my daughter for her homecoming dinner and dance. When we arrived at the salon on time for the appointment, I was told that the policy “is to make as many appointments as possible for the same time slot and whoever arrives first will be the first one seen”. This is unbelievable! The store’s policy allows for the person who answered the phone on Tuesday to make two or more appointments with the same stylist at the same time!!! Had I been told this on the phone I would not have made the appointment. My daughter is being picked up at our home at 4pm by her friends for homecoming and now she will be rushed to get ready on time.. it is 1:50pm and my daughter and I are still waiting to be seen by the person who we have the 1:30 appointment with.Response from HairCuttery • 10/13/21Hi Dana C., thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. A older lady called Mona told us to sit down and wait. We waited for over 45 minutes before she took my mom. She was very rude and my mothers hair was cut horrible.
When she checked us out to pay she wanted a tip in cash, I told her I only had a credit card but she said cash is better for her. I did not even want to tip her the service was so bad.
