When I left, I realized I was missing an earring, so I went back and let Joice know. She then called me directly to let me know she had found it! I had a appointment with Anna what a joke cancelled on me once then I had a appointment on June 16. At 2 pm. Called and said I do not I have the email in front of me. My hair ended up a very short and dutch style. I feel that she did not bother to trim on back for layers and she cut out straight that was good enough. - 4/20/22My haircut came out a very short and Dutch style. I asked for bob hair cut. Carrie B did not do bob hair style right. I feel she did that quickly and good enough. - 4/10/22Definitely will never return to this location. One member was very rude when I stated that I did not have an appointment. The representative that checked us in was much kinder. The woman that cut my son’s hair literally spent 7 minutes and did a horrible job- so uneven and just the worse haircut ever. Lucky he was going to baseball and could wear a hat. Will need to go to another establishment to get his hair fixed. - 1/6/22Husband went in for a normal trim which he's gone to this location before and has never had an issue. Today he never even got a say in anything the women was doing, she followed none of the directions he gave her with what he wanted. She then proceeded to put gel in his hair without warning(not being asked). Then when he thought she was done and taking his hair cape off she proceeded to slather his neck with shaving cream and straight raiser his neck (not asked to). He was done by this point told her he was finished and left. - 3/30/21I live in Bowie but that location is closed so I decided to try Crofton. I called and made an appointment, I told them exactly what services I wanted. I arrived on time and waited 15 minutes before being told that my stylist was double booked and she would not have time to do my hair. She asked the shop who scheduled my appointment but no one spoke up.
When I first walked in, the lady at the desk looked at me strangely and answered the phone before greeting me. I felt unwelcome immediately but still wanted my hair done.
The stylist said she would see if someone else could do my hair but at that point, I decided to leave. It was very awkward and uncomfortable.
I've been to several Hair Cutteries but never experienced anything like this. I wondered if they weren't used to doing Black hair at this location but I don't want to make it about race. Whatever the reason, it was unprofessional and unkind. I will not be visiting Hair Cuttery again.Response from HairCuttery • 3/31/21Kia H, thanks for the 3 star review. They have done a good job and last year I tried Homa who is great. I do not know what has happened to that shop since they reopened from the COVID shutdown, but the shop is filthy. It looks like it has not had a cleaning since before the shut down. I hope that the manager, who has been there for years, reads this review and does something about the cleanliness of the shop. Also did not see using oh the liquid for combs and brushes but I only had a hair cut, no shampoo or blow dry since I have not been out in public for four months. The stylist may be doing more to clean the tools than I saw. I hope so.
- 6/1/20Any idea when you will be opening again? I need to see Rachel! At the beginning of the "lock down" she gave me one of the best cuts I have had in a very long time!
