I’ve debated writing this all day. Typically I only write to give great reviews to exceptional service received. I received the worst haircut and customer service I have ever received today for a hair cut. I stopped by the garland groh location and they were booked so I stopped by the one by valley mall. There was a stylist available immediately despite only three working. I was greeted with a “my coffee hasn’t kicked in, we’re just going to head to the shampoo bowl” comment. When we got to the chair, still no consultation, she just spent 5 mins partitioning my hair which seemed like a struggle. She discussed how her Uber coffee was on the way multiple times. Once my hair was partitioned, I was then asked how much I wanted cut off. I told her I’d like it exactly where the clips were in the front, which was about 3” below my collar bone. Her Uber sheetz coffee and breakfast then arrived. My hair was more than half way down my back and I wanted about 5” taken off. When she layered my hair, each section was lifted once and never connected to the top section or all the way down for layering, no angling was done around my face and when done, my hair was shoulder length. I didn’t have her dry it and went home and cut actual layers and angling into my own hair. I worked at hair cuttery all through my early 20s and I’m disappointed that this is the service that is now given. My left side in the front was about a 1/2” longer than the right and super obvious If she’d ran her hands through and remotely checked. I feel like she was hungover and didn’t care mixed with lack of actual professional basic knowledge of how to cut hair. I won’t be back. Only 4 months ago I had another girl cut my hair there that gave me one of the best cuts in years. I’ll be fine and my hair will grow, but anyone planning/growing their hair for an event or or something and incapable of redoing their layers/shaping would have been so much more floored than I am.
