- 11/4/230 starts.. bad customer service.
I made an appointment to get my son's hair cut on wednesday nov. 1 and the woman didn't understand a regular haircut, she was upset that it was our fault that she didn't understand and it was no reason for her to treat us badly, she canceled the appointment and took us out of the place without We didn't say anything bad to her, she treated us badly in front of other customers, kicking us out of the place simply because she didn't understand what I was telling her about the cut. - 9/27/23UNREAL.. had a first time appointment here made with Cindy for a foil package+hair cut+blow dry. It's for a vacation. I Drove 30mins from DC to get here, and then Cindy informs me HERE at the salon (with bogus un-understandable excuses that she couldn't do my highlights. Yet she was booked for that, had other reviews for that, and even though they weren't good reviews I thought I'd give her a shot. Just seemed like she didn't want to highlights. They shouldn't set these appointments for Cindy in that case. I could have booked with someone else in time. I booked 3 weeks ago, and drive 30 mins for nothing. How rude and lazy to do business this way. She did say that she called me after I was visibly disturbed, but no she didn't. I don't miss calls. No numbers or voicemail on my phone. - 7/1/23I got my hair cut done my Anthonio and it looked nothing like the reference photo. I asked for curtain bangs and ended up getting very bad bangs. My bangs start from all the way to the back of my head & the front of my hair is just chopped not even blended. I really tried liking it but it’s not what I asked for. And I kept getting asked how to cut my hair as if the stylist didn’t know what he was doing. - 11/19/22I have been going to the Hair Cuttery in Riverdale Park Station for several years and I always have an positive experience and the Staff is very professional. Especially Helen W., whi has been my Styist for 2 1/2 years. Helen always does a great job in cutting and styling my hair and makes me look great. I enjoy the Tea Tree Experience and it is so relaxing. Helen certainly deserves a special recognition. - 9/24/22I went in for my scheduled appointment with Cindy today. I showed Cindy the photo and style of the cut I wanted. She completely butchered it and had the nerve to even tell me that it looks like the photo. Her lack of professionalism and acknowledgement to the client. She lacks empathy, and understanding of the client centered approach.

- 3/21/22Top 5 worst haircut of my life. Had long hair, have been growing it out the last 3-6 months. Stylists butchered it. Took a phone call in the middle of cut. - 2/8/22I came in for an haircut and as all the stylists were busy at the moment I sat and waited in the seating area to wait to talk to someone and get my name on the list. I waited for 20 minutes until I had to stand awkwardly for someone to finally acknowledge me and tell me they weren’t doing walk ins. I have no problem with a lack of availability for walk in appointments but they just wasted my time and made no effort to talk to me or get me situated. Very disappointed. - 11/20/21I normally go here because of the convenience and pricing. The last haircut I had, I believe with Linh, I got home and realized the cut was incredibly uneven. All I asked was for 2” off, and one side of my hair was much shorter than the other. I decided to go back to another stylist months later, and 2 hours before my appointment the store canceled saying the stylist wouldn’t be in for another week. - 10/26/21My initial stylist, Cindy, gave me a disastrous haircut. Because my hair curls, the misshapen cut was not readily detectable until the following day. I returned to the salon immediately and requested correction of the cut. Phuong provided that service free of charge as is their policy for an unhappy client.
Three weeks later, the haircut grew out slightly and the shape of the style remained unbalanced. So, I returned for another correction. Phuong saw me again and I expressed my frustration with the shape.
Phuong asked me if I wanted it "shorter on the sides." I felt concerned that he was asking me to make an over-simplified decision rather than rely on his professional skill to conceive of and to create "long layers." I doubted that he, as a professional, could see the whole design of the cut. He provided a correction once again at no cost.
The haircut is still poorly rendered. I feel dissatisfied with the hairstylists at this salon and, deserving 2 stars for their professional skill, I gave them 3 stars because Phuong provided corrective services on two occasions at no additional cost.
I doubt the hairstylists ability to understand that all I wanted was a trim of the original style and shape. Cindy seemed to have an entirely different idea in mind. Phuong cleaned up a mess to the best of his ability. He did a neat job on my hair and he took real good care of me when I was sick during the time he was doing my hair. He was so sweet and patient! It was very refreshing, it’s something you don’t see nowadays. He washed my jacket and went to the store and got me something to drink and gave me his crackers to help make me feel better; and I ended up feeling better! I applaud him. I’ll never forget what he did for me. Anyone else wouldn’t care or be impatient. - 9/20/21I have been going to this Hair Cuttery for years, following them from College Park to Hyattsville. These folks are great. I ususally get my hair cut by Linh, but every now and then I show up without appointment and she is not there, and so I have also had my hair cut by Phuong and others (sorry I forget the names).
