- 11/17/22I randomly made an appt with Shikey this afternoon & I'm so glad I did! I showed her a few old pics of myself with the cut I wanted, a few details and she delivered just that! I'm relatively new to the area and have found my new stylist. I'll be bringing my daughter to her as well. - 11/6/22I went on Saturday, 11/5/22 to get face framing layers which is what I usually get when I go here. Usually Briane would be my stylist and my hair would be perfect every time and I would leave completely satisfied. Unfortunately, she's no longer there.So I thought I'd try someone new. My appointment was at 11 and they took me at 10:30 because the stylist's morning appointment cancelled and she had plenty of time. I got my hair shampooed and tried explaining how I'd get my hair done to her the way Briane did it and she told me it was up to me. So I said yes this is what I wanted, I just didn't want the layers too short as my hair is curly and will shrink. So she's cutting the shorter pieces and they're at a good length, and then I was hoping she'd just blend it into my hair as layers usually do, and as Briane had did before. Well she had starting blending and it initially looked good and I asked if maybe I could just get quick blow dry so my hair wouldn't be soaked when I left and asked if that was okay, she said sure. She started blow drying and I was faced away from the mirror so I couldn't see how the layers looked. I also didn't know that blow drying added an extra $14 to the service. Then she started using a flat iron on me without telling me it would cost an extra $9. I never asked for the flat iron and was not told that it cost extra until she was nearly done. She then told me there's an option on the website when you make your appointment for a cut and a blowout that I could pick so she could have an appropriate amount of time to do my hair even though I was taken back early and her next appointment would have been me if I had come at 11. I told her I was sorry to have taken up so much of her time and she said oh it's no problem. The haircut that I thought would be $24 when I went in was now going to be $68 when I went to checkout. When she was done it looked ok as my hair was extra straight and the layers could barely be seen. So I paid and left and later on when I was home, after running some errands, my hair was starting to curl up and I could see the damage. My hair layers were not blended and it looked as if there were chunks missing and there were several jagged pieces. By that time, Hair Cuttery was closed and I was not able to call, I went to different salon to try and get it fixed but they said there wasn't enough hair to get the style I wanted and my only choice was to get straight across bangs and I'd have to wait for them to grow if I wanted face framing layers again. I am very upset and will not be coming to Hair Cuttery again. I paid $68 for a style I didn't want.Response from HairCuttery • 11/9/22Lauren W., thank you for your feedback. - 9/5/22The first time I went Briane cut my hair and I was totally satisfied. Briane went on maternity leave. So I made an appointment with another stylist there. I had sat and waited more than 20 min. No one had said anything to me. I finally asked about my appt that 20 min late already. the girl went to my stylist; when she came back to me, she said it would be another 20 min. I asked why someone did not come and tell or even acknowledge that I had been waiting for 20+ min? I said maybe you should keep your customers informed; shows how professional and common courtesy. - 6/16/22I went in for a simple bang cut. I had 2 photos of myself and how it was cut previous. Bangs to an angle , the stylest cut it to the back, inside out angle, then she cut it straight like a child's hair cut. Then she said help me to a stylest who was leaving. The stylest said I will try but I am not good at this. omg !! Magic panic and upset. - 5/10/22The first few times I went I was happy but this last time was not so good I had asked for texturing on top the girl kept asking me if I wanted my hair cut shorter obviously she didnt know what I was asking for UGH I got my hair cut short and paid. - 2/24/22I've had trouble in the past finding someone who knows how to cut my type of hair. I always put off getting it cut and have even found myself cutting my own hair because I'd rather risk messing it up myself. I took a chance and selected Briane to be my stylist and let me tell you, she did not disappoint! I think it's very important to recognize those who truly make an experience great! Not only did she acknowledge my request for how I wanted my hair done but she even asked me along the way if what she was doing was okay before she did it, which was much appreciated! She made me feel very comfortable and was 100% genuine from start to finish! - 11/1/21Came in for two french braids that I specifically asked to not be super tight and they were as tight as she could get them. There is no way there was confusion because I showed a picture for reference. The two girls working went back and forth who was going to take me and I could tell it was because neither of them wanted to do my hair. The whole time they were complaining about no shows and slow business which I completely empathized with but it left me feeling very uncomfortable. - 9/11/21Asked for a trim. The stylist asked me how much I would be comfortable getting cut off and I said at maximum 3 inches. He continues to cut off at least 5. When I noticed it was getting too short I asked him to stop, and he said he was “making it even” and kept cutting. I looked at my watch and he said “Don’t worry about it your boyfriend isn’t calling, do you have a hot date tonight is that why you’re getting your hair cut? - 8/8/21Went in for a hair cut. Left when I saw a few tiny little cockroaches crawling on the floor. How are you gonna cut hair and be that dirty. I wouldn’t trust their scissors and such for the life of me. - 4/25/21I was so upset. I wish I didn't pay for my hair style. I was charged $95.00 for a wash, trim and press. The stylist Christina (I belive was her name) cut my hair at least 4 inches, my hair is not even and she was very ruff. She kept hitting me in the head with the brush, and then asked was I tender headed. When I said no she was even worse. My appointment was at 2pm and I didn't get started until after 3pm. For what I was getting done it took a total of 3 hours and my hair wasn't completed, I asked her to please stop.
I have no idea why I left there before asking to speak to a manager.
This was 3 days ago and I still hate my hair cut / not trim. It is so uneven. I haven't had my hair cut in 3 years. I am getting married soon and I will now have to pay someone to fix my hair and give me a great weave.
For $95.00 all I got was a heart break 💔.
My beautiful long hair was completely cut and I will need to get it cut once again just to fix what she destroyed.
I really should call and ask for a refund, or call corporate or something.

- 3/31/21I left two messages for the manager and no response. What a huge mistake it was to let Tia near my hair. I should have left when she asked if I was wearing a shirt I didn't mind getting dirty. Then there was the whole my scissors are broken, giving a 3 minute hair cut and getting ready to dry my hair without checking to see if it was even. I should not have had to ask for that or the layers. I left the shop with more hair color in my face and neck than in my roots. Tia told me I could wash it off at home. I also have the most uneven cut and horrible dye job ever. It looked alright until I got home and washed it. Now I have to go pay more money to get this disaster fixed.
