The experience that I had at this hair cuttery and with hair cuttery customer service was absolutely appalling, and fairly traumatic. I recently lost my twin boys and was holding a fundraiser for other moms who have gone through this. I figured that I had gotten my hair cut about 8 weeks ago, so I should get my hair trimmed to look presentable at the fundraiser.
I would normally not go to a Hair Cuttery but I was in a bit of a rush and couldn’t make it to my normal salon for a trim; and in my mind, who can really mess up a trim, right?! I only wanted a trim, and let me tell you, a trim CAN BE BUTCHERED. The first cut was in the back, so I couldn’t see how short she went, but she assured me that she wasn’t “scissor happy”. By the time she started cutting towards the front, I could see that she was giving me a bob, not a trim, and had taken over 3 inches off my hair (definitely not a trim, and not what I agreed to). I kept it together because there was little that could be done at that point but started to realize that it was incredibly uneven as well. I figured I would go home and really see what the damage was in my own mirror.
After getting home I realized that there were large chunks missing in spots, and it looked like a blind woman had cut my hair. I immediately called up customer service and told them what happened. They felt bad but asked me to go back to the salon and have them fix it. The hair was already gone so they can’t fix the missing length, and there was NO WAY I would be going back to a hair cuttery in order to have my hair done. They offered to give me a refund for the hair cut but would not offer a refund for my hair to be cut at a different salon. I agreed to a refund, which was never received, and had to pay $82 for something that they messed up, so now I am out $115. When getting my hair cut at a different salon they even asked if I had donated to locks for love because it looked like someone had cut a ponytail off due to how uneven and short it was.
NEVER GO TO A HAIR CUTTERY! The entire experience was awful and on top of everything else I have been through recently with the loss of my boys, this was just something that I did not need.
Shame on hair cuttery for making a grieving mother feel like this and then not actually doing anything about it.
