- 4/10/23Be aware of what they have prices online and what they originally charge you in store. I had to pay more than what I was paying for over 4 years. There staffs are very rude and they argue a lot just to prove their point. I don’t think it’s worth giving them business. You go to a hair saloon to relax and look Preety but they ruin your mood. Don’t think if I would return.

I was disappointed when the manager on duty wouldn’t allow me to use the $5.00 off coupon after I forgot to present it before checkout. Hair cuttery team. - 1/4/22While I was Pleased with my stylist. The business is very poorly run. No effective management. Stylist are answering phones while cutting hair. Overbooking for amount of staff. I was a walk in and 4 people came in while I was waiting. All 4 had 1:00 Apts. And they were going to take me first. I declined to let them go first. The staff is also not trained on the register. And one of the mentioned she didn’t click in because she didn’t have time. Hair Cuttery Team. - 11/3/21Jamila is a superb stylist. The salon, however, seems to have changed management and it is very poorly run. Stylists are running to answer phones in the middle of cutting; added treatments without asking or informing of cost; appointments have all started late since I returned after covid. I am hesitating to return because I need my stylist to concentrate on cutting my hair and not running to answer phones. It's really a shame, since many of the stylists seem quite fine. - 9/19/21Some of the stylists are great, but the administration is terrible. The man who give customer service lacks of any basic education and manners. I've been going there for 6 years but it's enough.
- 8/23/21This salon seems to be short on staff - we booked several appointments, and we had to wait for all of them, in one case, for about 40 minutes. I'm not opposed to waiting, but they seem to accept appointments - online and by phone - that they can't really deliver on. We booked for first available, and when they were 40 minutes late getting to us, they had people walking in saying they had an appointment with a specific stylist, or they had recently called and were told to come on in - and they for some reason respected us to keep waiting, I guess so they could maximize their business.

- 8/10/20When you say you open at 9AM, it doesn't mean employees start showing up between 9 and 9:03 and leave the customers locked outside until staff is ready to start work at 9:10. It means you are ready to work at 9.
- 10/15/19Jamila was excellent, she was personable, friendly, and she made my hair look perfect
- 9/16/19I have been going to Jamila every month for 6 years for hair color/root touch up appointments. I've never received so many compliments on my hair color and she costs a fraction of the price of "higher end" salons. It is very difficult to see her without having an appointment so I highly recommend booking at least a couple weeks in advance.
- 4/7/19Biased against Natural African Hair
So, I went to get twist in my hair after calling this morning to make sure someone would be there to do my hair. I show up and for some reason no one wanted to do my twist. EVERYONE working around 1100 on Sunday 7 April 2019 said they couldn't do twist. So if that was the case someone is lying. I've been told they do know how to twist so I wasted my time coming up there when really they just didn't want to do my natural African hair because there were too many Caucasian people there that they wanted to do their hair. I feel discriminated against and I will never return there again! I normally go to the Hair Cuttery further down the street but I thought I'd go here since it's closer to my home and I was told by the employees there that they do natural hair styles. I guess if there wasn't anyone else there would've known how to do my twist. I see what's going on here and it's a shame how the African people working in there behaved. Very unprofessional! - 8/25/18I have frequented Hair Cuttery on King St. many times. This time I decided to book an appointment with a Master Stylist. I went on line to set the appointment and the posted price for a simple color is $63 for a Master Stylist, $50 for a regular stylist. When I got there Tessie said I didn't have an appointment. I asked her to check their computer which did show I had an appointment with Tessie. She then tells me she was getting ready to leave. This did not give me a welcoming feeling but more like I was imposing on her. She leads me to her chair, drapes the cape and mixes the color. Tessie then tells me her charge would be $95. This is $32 more than advertised. I ask her why the higher rate. She first said it was because I had long hair. I said I was aware of an up charge for longer hair but $32 seemed very high. I didn't want a blow dry as I like to air dry my curly hair. She went to get a store brochure which shows the rates. In print it said $63 for Master Stylist simple color. She then told me it was an old brochure and that when she rings it up in the computer it is $95. As if I had to pay for a color, cut, blow dry and style when all I wanted was a simple color touch up to cover the grey roots. I said that is false advertising as it is in print in the store brochures and on line. I asked her to remove the cape and left. I usually do not write reviews but when a company has very obvious bait and switch, false advertising on it's rates I had to write a post.
