Hair cuttery team. - 6/23/22Would do less than one star but not an option…
This is the worst place! I had appointments every Saturday at 0800. My last time, I drove almost an hour each way - I really liked the young girl that did my hair. Not the most experienced but really tried hard and I appreciated that.
Anyhow, my last appointment I got there right at 0800 like always. I go in and tell them I have an appointment with Sydney.
The woman says sorry she quit a month ago.
So I asked if anyone else would be available… NOPE Sorry.
I drove an hour to get here… nothing you can do?
NOPE.
Why didn’t you let me know my appointment was cancelled?
SORRY.
That’s it. I spend almost 2hrs to and from of WASTED time.
And they are really flippant and don’t give a poo.

Hair Cuttery Team - 5/21/22I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Hollymead Location. The person who booked the appointment was told that I was black and had natural hair. I specifically asked if any of the employees did black natural hair and was told yes. I was given a different price over the phone then what I was told in person. My hair was only blown out and trimmed and I was charged $70ish for it. The employees discussed that textured hair like mine need to be flagged in the future because it takes a while (maybe this could’ve been done in private because it made me feel like an inconvenience). This hair cuttery advertises that they care for black natural hair but the number of beauticians who do so are very limited. The scheduler put me down for an hour and I was told it would take longer than an hour. The visit felt very disorganized. I didn’t enjoy my experience and won’t make a visit ever again. I want all hair types to be equally prioritized. Please hire more black people who specialize in black natural hair and properly educate those who schedule the appointments… I am usually not one to complain but this is not okay. I’m hoping my critique will make the next person’s experience much better. Hair Cuttery Team - 5/5/22Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. Had a one o’clock appointment and the operator came in two minutes after one, checked the computer to see if her client was there, gave me a cold stare and turned and went directly to the back room from which she had not re-emerged after twelve more minutes. I left at that point as I didn’t want anyone with her attitude trying to style my hair. I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully. Asked to cancel my appointment which i received attitude about. Call Hollymead Hair Cuttery made an appointment. I was seen in time was treated with respect by Cindy and Alicia. Purchased a package including cut, blow dry.... stylist had someone waiting and asked if I really needed my hair to be dry. Even after saying, yes, that is was I purchased, i left with wet hair. The cut was not what I asked for but after asking her to fix it twice, I gave up.
- 7/17/19The first two times I've had my brows done at this location they've looked amazing. This last time I'm mortified. They are too far apart and too thin and the ends are curved weird and not straight like normal. All I needed was a simple cleanup and now I'm going to have to draw them on until they come back in. I didn't say anything when I was in because I was embarrassed and there was nothing that could've been done.
- 7/6/19On my way out of town last week I decided to take my chances and get my haircut. The stylist I see at home was booked and wasn’t able to see me for another week and I really needed it done. My stylist Cindy Powell was so caring and really made sure that she understood what I wanted since I was so nervous about being in a new place. I love my hair and will definitely be back to see her when I’m in town. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of this salon all of the ladies seem to get along with each other and really be happy to be there. I couldn’t get over how nice everyone was, I’m not used to that at the salon I go to back home. I hope this is shared with the ladies at the location by Forest Lakes in Charlottesville.
