I had very long hair. They showed me about 3-5 inches of hair between their fingers when they asked me how much I wanted off.
The person cutting my hair was very nice and I heard so many good things from friends and family about them.
I left feeling happy thinking what I saw was only the face framing hair. Got home and realized that that's all I have left. Very unhappy. My hair is short. Nothing like the picture and thin. I just ordered hair extensions to cover this mess up.
Update:
Called today and they did not feel comfortable helping me style the hair extensions that I've already ordered and paid for myself. If you don't feel comfortable styling fake hair why are you styling real hair?
Even though it says on yelp that they do hair extensions.
I wasn't asking them to pay for anything.
They did offer to refund the $24 dollar haircut.
I don't want my money back or free services.
I just wanted help learning how to style hair extensions since I've never had the need to ever get hair extensions before.
One of the managers first things that she said is that they were not going to pay for extensions.
Literally no one asked you to.
I already said in my original review that I had already ordered (and paid for) hair extensions.
Why would I think to go back here?
Owners response left me thinking that they wanted to help fix the problem.
However it appears that whoever replies to reviews is just copying and pasting from 2 prompts. 1 prompt for good reviews and another for bad reviews.
The problem isn't how much I spent or a rude stylist. They are affordable and the person cutting my hair was very nice.
If you have long hair and want to keep your length and get anything close to the haircut that you want maybe go somewhere else.
If they say that they're going to chop off around 3-5 inches they might really mean 8-10 inches.
If you need hair coloring services I've heard that they are good. My friend and mother in law get their hair colored here and they are never disappointed. Hair cuttery team. - 4/24/22I arrived at the Ruckersville Hair Cuttery Sunday 4/24 at 9:40 am. A stylist told me they would be right with me. About 10 minutes later someone else asked me I I had been registered. I said no and she walked away. I waited until 10 am and walked out. There is NO customer service at this location or at the Rio Hill location! I am done with Hair Cutteries! Hair Cuttery Team - 4/18/22I arrived to Hair Cuttery without an appointment on the morning of my son's wedding. I was with my cousin from Ireland and we both wanted a fresh look. The person who checked us in was professional and helpful and made time to assure us that they would fit us in.
I asked for an up-do and my hair is thick/heavy/coarse. I believe my stylist's name was Eileen (please forgive me if I messed up your name!). She was incredibly helpful and did not hesitate to get started on my hair. Her work brought tears to my eyes because she understood the challenges of thick/curly/coarse hair and made my hair look absolutely stunning. My cousin was thrilled with her hair as well. I cannot stress enough how welcoming/professional/competent everyone was and I am happy to send along pictures of my wedding up do! Hair Cuttery Team - 4/3/22This is the very first review I have EVER written. I do not need this salon to ask for “more information” to “make things right”. That sounds nice and looks good on paper, not impressed, and not returning.
I have given Hair Cuttery, Ruckersville, VA 3 chances. It takes time and repetition to learn a persons style and preferences. Not only have I had to wait for my appointment more than half an hour beyond the scheduled time, (more on that later), all three cuts were not even close to the photo I provided.
My appointment was with a stylist that was booked as a 45 minute service. This last appointment was barely 30 minutes and pretty much a chop job.
I haven't been this disappointed in a stylist/salon for many years!
More on the wait time...The previous client was being finished up about 10 minutes into my time. Not a big deal to me. However, all of a sudden, a woman walked into the shop and dumped a small boy in the lap of the client who my stylist had already just finished! Then my stylist went on and gave the boy a hair cut!!! No explanation, no, "sorry, she'll be right with you."...Nothing. Then, again, my appointment was shorted and the cut has now been recut by someone else who actually did as I asked.
They say that third time's a charm...Not at this salon! Hair Cuttery Team. - 1/27/22Literally the worst my hair has ever looked. I’m writing this review a month after getting my haircut because I had some hope that my hair would return to its normal state, but that’s not the case. For context I used to have 3b curly hair that I had been taking care of properly for 2 years. I had not had my haircut in over a year, and decided it was time, as my ends were starting to look dead. Let’s just say I came out with my hair in worse condition than before. For starters, you need experts that know how to cut curly hair properly. The hairstylist that cut my hair gave me so much breakage and split ends from yanking a brush through it, proceeded to cut it wet and straight (if you didn’t know, curly hair shrinks up so you can’t tell whether it will be uneven in the end if cut straight), and then topped it all off by blow drying it straight with a round brush. I literally felt tears in my eyes as I knew my curls were not going to be salvageable. While I didn’t know this when my hair was getting cut, the hairstylist used a cutting technique called texturizing, which basically made it so the strands of my hair can not form into a uniform curl. Now I just have frizz. People with curly hair deserve to have access to stylists with the knowledge of cutting curly hair instead of styling it straight as the default. Also, no curly girl approved products in sight, which is why I thought my hair might be limp. After clarifying on my own and using curly girl approved products, my hair still will not hold a curl (barely 2b). Hair Cuttery Team. - 9/27/21Love Sara. 2 months ago she did an amazing blending of my gray hair I am letting grow out and the dark blonde I had been maintaining. I couldn't go around for a year with the gray on top and brown on the bottom waiting for it to grow out. She worked her magic. My hair looked amazing. - 9/23/21I typically do not do reviews but I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Anna yesterday & she did a wonderful job . She took her time detangling my hair to do a deep moisturizing treatment & was very attentive going back through my hair to make sure it was perfect . I usually feel rushed through while getting my hair cut but she took the time to listen to my concerns and addressed them accordingly. - 9/2/21My son hadn't had a hair cut in a salon in years. The poor thing had to deal with me cutting his hair and when he was younger it was fine but now that he's 14 and in high school he wanted something a little more trendy and I honestly have no business cutting anyone's hair since I have no clue what I'm doing. I called and they were able to fit him in the same day with Anna. My son has high functioning autism and will talk your ear off. I was a little nervous that the stylist would get annoyed with him but I have to tell ya..Anna kept him engaged the entire time and actually had a conversation with him. It wasn't just those "uh huh" acknowledgements and one sided conversations. She talked about his interests and gave him, by far, the best hair cut he's had. I already made him an appointment with her in a few weeks. I HIGHLY recommend Anna!
- 8/30/21Asked for my hair to be feathered all over like the 70s and I received layers. I told the girl it wasn't correct and she said it was. - 5/3/21I had Anna as a stylist and explained when I came in I had longer hair and wanted it trimmed up to look like a longer hair version on the wall. When she was done I was practically bald and told me she thought I meant I wanted it short like one of the bald girls next to her that was cutting hair. So rather than asking to confirm she just arbitrarily cuts all my hair off in addition to that I have about a half inch Gap above one ear all the way around what we used to call in the military White Walls and the other side is touching my ear terrible haircut probably one of the worst I've ever had and I spent 30 years in the military getting haircuts all over the world.
